Dog Breed Info

“Hot dog”, as some people call the Dachshund, is one of the most known breeds in the world. Despite his small size, this little guy is courageous, brave and determined. He has an independent and obstinate personality because he was bred to hunt by himself.

He is playful and loves to chase small animals, tennis balls and has a natural instinct for digging holes. Despite of his devotion for family members, he doesn’t get along well with children. He tends to bark excessively, specially at strangers, if he is not well trained. His obstinate personality makes it hard for him to adapt to a new home. Only your patience can overcome his refusal to obey orders.

This breed is persistent in any actvity in which he gets involved. Don’t let his small size misguide you. That won’t be an obstacle to confront other bigger dogs, or even his owner, if permitted. Nothing can stop a hot dog.
